As our English summer staggers to its inglorious end here in Lewes, East Sussex, I thought I would share this poem with you. I wrote “Summer” last Summer when we had a lot more heat than we have had this year. Hot weather does have its downside though. The poem was published in the November 2009 edition of that excellent American journal The Blotter which is distributed throughout the Southern state of America and on subcription worldwide.
