Colin Bell’s barefoot snail crushing ended up as a poem.

New publishers on the block, Inspired Words, have taken another of my poems for their poetry anthology Animal Kingdom due for publication, I believe, in October. They had already offered to publish my sad tale of an ancient cat and now they have added my poem about a snail to the collection.

We have a lot of snails here in Lewes in the UK, and this barefoot gardener is now immune from the squeamishness that first accompanied splatting them. Today’s handy gardening  tip: if you are barefoot then the gunge doesn’t mess up your shoes. Anyway this particular snail has been, er, immortalised in my poem Crushed.
